Petroleum and Energy Minister Ola Borten Moe´s visit to Saudi Arabia
Petroleum and Energy Minister Ola Borten Moe met on 14 April Saudi Arabia´s Oil and Mineral Resources Minister Ali Ibrahim Al Naimi in Riyadh. The two Ministers discussed among other things the oil and gas markets and the developments on the Norwegian continental shelf. Increased extraction, more environmental friendly use of oil and gas, and carbon capture and storage, were also on the agenda.
"Meeting with al Naimi was very helpful. Saudi Arabia is the world´s largest oil producer and exporter. Their views on the energy market and plans for the future is therefore of great importance to Norway," says Petroleum and Energy Minister Ola Borten Moe.
Later the same day Borten Moe gave a presentation about Norwegian energy policy at the International Energy Forum (IEF). The IEF is an association of producer and consumer countries which Norway helped establish.
