Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy, Åslaug Haga to visit Saudi Arabia

To promote Saudi-Norwegian friendship and cooperation.

On Saturday February 16th, the Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy is commencing her three-day visit in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Minister is invited by the Minister of Petroleum and Mining resources, H. E. Ali bin Ibrahim al-Naimi.

 

The Minister will hold talks with al-Naimi on such topics as the petroleum industry and renewable energy. al-Naimi will also be hosting official dinner in honour of the Norwegian Minister.

 

During her visit, the Minister will be visiting the Saudi Aramco headquarter and the King Adulaziz Historical center.

 

Minister Åslaug Haga was born in Akershus in 1959. She was elected leader of the Centre Party in 2003, and she served as a Member of Parliament from 2001-2005. From 1999-2000 she was appointed Minister of Culture 2005-2007, and she was Minister of Local Government and Regional Development and from 1999-2000.

 

She was appointed Minister of Petroleum and Energy in September 2007.
